It’s Official We Are The Best Hair Styling Team!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that out of hundreds of professionals from across the region’s beauty sector we are the very proud winners of The Midlands Beauty Industry Awards 2019 Best Hair Styling Team.

The event is now in its 2nd year and creates a platform to acknowledge those amazing stylists that work tirelessly to keep you all looking stunning.

We all know just how quick the beauty industry has grown over the past 10 years and how it continues to do so at an immense rate.

It is a fantastic feeling to be at the forefront of an industry known for promoting excellence, setting trends and turning our clients dream looks into a reality.

The competition was fierce and the crown for Best Hair Styling Team not easily won, but here at Donovan Hair and Beauty we strive for more and on the night it paid off!

It’s said that the winners of these awards reflect the creativity and talent within the profession and we feel that as a team this is what we represent here at Donovan Hair and Beauty.

As the salon owner I am ecstatic to win such a prestigious award and can’t praise my amazingly, strong team enough.  It’s fabulous to put Blaby, Leicestershire on the map as a 5 star salon.

Our approach and dedication to our clients has enabled us to double in growth over the past two years.

In order to keep achieving as a salon and bringing you our amazing clients the best of the best the team go through a continuous training program to keep the standard of the salon high and hit the level of excellence you have come to expect.

Long may it continue and here’s to future excellence.  What can we say, we simply love what we do!

4th Birthday Celebrations

Donovan Hair & Beauty 4th Birthday Blog

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate our 4th birthday here at Donovan Hair & Beauty, it was a full house and we hope you had as much fun as we did.

The evening was the perfect opportunity for our fabulous guests to have a good nosey around all the rooms we have and see what else we have to offer beyond hair.

For those visiting for the first time it was also a chance to meet the team and see what we’re all about and what we can offer you from our full range of beauty therapy treatments, hairdressing and styling.

Our experienced hairstylists were on hand creating beautiful waves and plaits and offering advice on how to get the best finish for your style.

Colour consultations were a popular stop for those looking for a hair makeover or something a little different as we head into the Winter months and of course the festive season.  As colour correction experts we pride ourselves on our consultations and giving the very best advice before booking clients for a colour change or correction.

Our amazing beauty therapists were also offering advice to those who wanted to know more about their skin and beauty routine, giving our guests the chance to try a range of mini treatments, as well as giving away our fabulous Elemis treat bags.

 

As one of the newest members of our team our resident reflexologist Sam was on hand to introduce herself and talk through the benefits of the treatment, while giving free foot massages; which kept her very busy all evening.

 

With semi-permanent make up being one of the newest additions to our treatment menu Claire from Contour Beauty Aesthetics was here offering consultations on semi-permanent make up and the best route to suit your desired results.

 

For those looking to take their beauty regime a little further Ben Coyle our in house doctor joined us to offer consultations and advice on the results that can be achieved by Injectables and Aesthetics.

What a great evening! 

The fizz was flowing and we had lots of mini treats happening to keep you all entertained from start to finish.

 

Thank you to all of those that took part in our very successful charity raffle for MIND supporting better mental health.  We gave away some fabulous hair and beauty prizes to you lucky lot.

Then to top it off after all this excitement we then found out that we had reached the finals of the Midland Beauty Industry Awards for Best Hair Styling Team for the East Midlands.  We couldn’t be prouder of how far our salon has come in the last 4 years.

Showing off our talents

I love days like today in the salon when there’s a real buzz of excitement, it really is why I do what I do and reignites the passion I have for hairdressing.

The atmosphere was electric as our models were lined up so that we could get to work on their new looks.  

Working in the shadows we had our fabulous Videographer Connor and fine art Photographer Laura shooting new video and photographic content for the all new Donovan Hair & Beauty website.

With the recent changes at Donovan Hair & Beauty we wanted to showcase to our current clients and those thinking of stepping through the door the versatility of our stylists and what can be achieved within the boundaries set by you the client. 

From subtle cut and colours to the more dramatic and impactful, daring and bold we’ve tried to capture it all to inspire and show you just what we can do. 

We pride ourselves on the initial consultation so that you leave the salon every time totally happy with the look you envisaged.

Our Models and Fabulous Colours

I’d like to thank our models from today who are brilliant and so willing, giving us almost free reign and enabling us to show off our skills.  Also we have to give praise to the amazing colours we’ve been working with.  So Colour Cult is a fantastic new semi and demi colour enabling us as stylists to give you subtle flashes or all out statement colours that now last for weeks longer than any other colour available.

Part of the Matrix on trend colours there’s something for every client to drop in the salon and try something new and more vibrant for the Winter months ahead.

Our Mens Room

You may or may not know that we have a mens room upstairs at the salon with a wide variety of mens treatments.  Our beauty rooms also offer all clients numerous treatments from permanent make up, aesthetic and beauty treatments using our in house brand Elemis as well as nails and brows. 

Workshops

We also hold workshops throughout the year giving you the skills to create a salon finished look at home in confidence.  From basic styling and waves to simple pin ups so you can try something new.

If you’re one of those Mums, Dads, Grans or Grandads who have girls or boys with amazing hair and want to know how to get the look for the everyday or maybe a dance show or up coming party we run children’s workshops for adults.  

These workshops enable you to style your child’s hair better from simple plaits to the perfect ponytail and beyond.

New Elemis Skincare Workshops

Aside from hair we have a new workshop for 2019 our Elemis DIY workshop giving you the knowledge to know your skin type and what it needs.  So you can leave with all the top tips on what your daily routine should look like for the best looking skin possible.

There’s so much more to come here at the salon and we’ll be blogging all about it so you can keep up to date with all the new treatments and techniques that are available to you so watch this space…..

Donovan Hair and Beauty Launch Night

Well it’s been quite a busy 6 months with lots of change behind the scenes but with change comes great new things and the chance to perfect what we were already pretty good at.

It has also given us the chance to add a number of great new products and treatments to the salon broadening our offering to our current clients and those looking for something new.

After months of hard work it was great to officially launch our new brand Donovan Hair and Beauty and invite you all to come and see for yourself just what that means for you our valued clients.  It also offered the opportunity for those who are yet to visit us to come and see what we’re all about and how our clients come first.

 

What we can do for you

We don’t like to do anything by half and with that in mind we went all out kicking the evening off with a catwalk show to demonstrate the stunning things we can do with hair, whether it’s for a special occasion, wedding day or just because.

An Insight Into What We Do

The evening gave our guests the chance to have their hair styled by one of our fabulous stylists and ask questions about pretty much anything hair. From up do’s to colour, restyling to glamour, whatever you’re looking for we love to listen and create the look you have in mind.

There was also the opportunity to take a look at the beauty side of the business and the products and services we offer at Donovan Hair and Beauty.

Mini treatments were available to indulge yourself a little, as well as help and advice from our highly trained beautician Sharon.

Of course a party wouldn’t be a party at Donovan Hair and Beauty without a little fizz so there was plenty of that flowing too!

 

We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved in recent months and couldn’t be happier to be able to share it all with clients old and new.  More importantly we want to keep doing what we’re doing and more to keep you coming back and sharing your thoughts with us and taking full advantage of all the services we offer.
